DRAFT - to be reviewed by our lawyer before launch.
ForestBill is built for honest businesses and freelancers. This policy lists what you may not do with ForestBill. It is part of our Terms of Service and applies to everyone in your workspace, including your team.
1. No illegal goods or services
Do not use ForestBill to bill for, sell or promote anything that is illegal where you or your clients are. This includes, for example, illegal drugs, weapons sold without the required licences, stolen goods, counterfeit goods, and content that is illegal to make or share.
2. No fraud or deception
Do not:
- send invoices, payment links or contracts for goods or services you do not intend to deliver;
- pretend to be another person, business or brand;
- use another person's payment details or identity;
- hide the true nature of your business from your clients or your payment provider;
- use ForestBill to launder money or to get around sanctions.
3. No spam
ForestBill sends emails for your billing: invoices, receipts, reminders, contracts and portal codes. Do not use it to:
- send marketing or bulk emails to people who did not ask for them;
- add people as clients only to email them;
- use bought or scraped email lists.
4. Follow your payment providers' rules
You connect your own Stripe, PayPal or other payment accounts. You must follow their rules too. Do not use ForestBill for any business or product that your payment provider does not allow or calls "restricted" or "high-risk" without its approval. Examples often include gambling, adult content, some financial services, cryptocurrency trading, pharmaceuticals, and debt collection.
If your provider limits or closes your account, you must not try to get around it through ForestBill (for example by connecting someone else's account).
5. No reselling or sharing access
- Do not sell, rent or give access to ForestBill to people outside your business, unless we agree in writing.
- Each person needs their own login. Do not share logins.
- Brands and clients in your workspace must be your own business or businesses you work for. Do not run a hidden payment service for other companies through your workspace.
6. No attacks, abuse or scraping
Do not:
- try to get into accounts, workspaces or data that are not yours;
- test, scan or probe ForestBill for weaknesses without our written permission (if you find a security problem, please report it to support@forestbill.com);
- overload ForestBill, for example with automated requests, or try to get around its limits;
- copy, scrape or collect data from ForestBill with bots or scripts;
- upload viruses or harmful code;
- copy ForestBill's design or code, or try to rebuild it from the app.
7. Respect people's data
Only put personal data into ForestBill that you have the right to use. Give your clients any privacy notice the law requires. Do not upload sensitive data that billing does not need, such as health records, card numbers, passwords or government ID numbers, in notes, files or other fields.
8. What happens if this policy is broken
Depending on how serious it is, we may:
- ask you to fix the problem;
- remove the content or stop the emails concerned;
- make your workspace read-only or block it;
- close your account;
- report illegal activity to the authorities or to your payment provider.
In an emergency (for example fraud), we may block a workspace and close its client pages straight away. Otherwise we will usually warn you first.
9. Report abuse
If you see ForestBill being misused, for example an invoice or contract you think is a scam, write to support@forestbill.com. Please include the link or email you received.
